Insurance / Self Pay

We currently accept traditional Medicare and are self-pay for all other patients. Our approach at Key Performance breaks from the traditional physical therapy billing model in order to relieve the restrictions and external pressures insurance companies place upon physical therapy practices to provide our patients with the best individual plan of care for them. For this reason, we are self-pay for all services except for our patients with traditional medicare coverage. We are glad to provide the necessary documents and information to be submitted to your insurance company for potential reimbursement as many insurance plans include out of network benefits for which you may be compensated. We also recommend contacting your insurance company to inquire about your out of network benefits for physical therapy. Click the link below for more information.

Why Do We Do This?

If you have attended out-patient physical therapy in the past few years or know somebody who has, you may be familiar with the experience of seeing an overworked therapist who is juggling 3-4 patients at once while attempting to document on their computer at the same time. Or perhaps you see the therapist for 15 minutes and then are handed off to a tech to take you through your exercises. Or maybe, after your first few visits, you are expected to take yourself through your exercises, with somebody occasionally checking on you (maybe.) This is coupled with the expectation of attending 2-3 sessions/week for 8-12 weeks. In recent years, as insurance companies have reduced compensation for necessary physical therapy services in spite of its vast proven benefit, PT practices, attempting to remain profitable, have had to resort to cost cutting measures. This results in less time with your actual therapist, with aids and techs leading some or most of the session, and decreased focus on the individual, as several patients are seen at once. At Key Performance you will always be seen one on one by a Doctor of Physical Therapy for your entire treatment. We also strive to construct care plans with the onus on a timely recovery. The bottom line is we want to provide you with the attention you deserve, with the emphasis on getting you better faster, while providing the highest quality care .
